This 5 days training consisting of lectures & case studies to be proficient in steam boiler operation & maintenance and preparing for the examination

 

Objectives

  • Explain the working principles of various types of steam and hot water boilers, steam turbines & steam engines
  • Explain related provisions under The Factories and Machineries Act 1967 and OSHA 1994
  • Describe the boiler operations, conditional monitoring, installation of new boiler, various type of testing and basic boiler water treatment
  • Sketch the steam boiler, piping system, fittings & other accessories
  • Analyze defect samples & tube failure and recognize common boiler deposits
  • Describe boiler house management (managing log book, safety management, policy statement arrangement, implementation and accident prevention) and contingency plan or emergency response plan
  • Carry out boiler inspections, defects identification & prepare proposal for repair based on applicable codes & procedures
  • Be prepared for examination & interview by Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)
