SCAFFOLDING LEVEL 1

Code: SCA1

Scaffolders are responsible to install, dismantle and maintain scaffolding. The provisions of 74 (1) of the Regulations (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations, Factories and Machinery Act, 1986 stipulates that all the work of installing, dismantle or maintain the scaffold shall be carried out under the supervision of the 'designated person' or competent person appointed by the employer to supervise or inspect the work.

 

Objectives

Trainee who successfully completed the training and passed the assessment will be awarded the Skills Competency Certificate by CIDB. Trainee is eligible to be employed as skilled worker and register with Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH). DOSH has the right to determine the registration requirement.

 

Course Contents

  • Introduction to workplace / workshop safety and health practice and basic first aid
  • Prepare scaffold components and equipment.
  • Erect and install crawling ladder, independent scaffold and putlog scaffold.
  • Erect and install birdcage scaffold, trestle scaffold and putlog scaffold.
  • Erect and install gangway/ramp structure and safety netting.
  • Dismantle independent scaffold, tower scaffold (mobile/static), trestle scaffold, scaffold with return, birdcage, safety netting and putlog scaffold.
  • Remove gangway, scaffold safety sign and scaffold birdcage.

Scaffolding Level 2

SCAFFOLDING LEVEL 2

Code: SCA2

Scaffolding work includes putting up, changing or taking down of a temporary structure that is used to support a work platform, where a person or object could fall more than four metres. To perform intermediate scaffolding duties, you need to have an Intermediate Scaffolding. To apply for an intermediate scaffolding license you must hold, or have passed assessment for, a basic scaffolding license.

 

Objectives

  • Pipe joining methods
  • Identify sanitary components and accessory installation systems
  • Cold water supply systems
  • Hot water supply systems
  • Waste system piping and its installation
  • Waste system and drainage
  • Installation of rain water chutes

Scaffolding Level 3

SCAFFOLDING LEVEL 3

Code: SCA3

Scaffolding work includes putting up, changing or taking down of a temporary structure that is used to support a work platform, where a person or object could fall more than four metres. To perform advanced scaffolding duties, you need to have an Advanced Scaffolding. To apply for an advanced scaffolding license you must hold, or have previously passed assessment for, a basic scaffolding license and an intermediate scaffolding license.

 

Objectives

  • This course teaches and reinforces the core skills of scaffolding, including how to safely erect, alter and dismantle basic structures
  • Improve your knowledge of scaffolding and using tube and fitting or system scaffold
  • Learn via classroom-based theory, computer-based training and practical
