This is 5-day training consisting of lectures, hands-on & case studies to be proficient in steam boilers operation & maintenance and preparing for the examination.
Objectives
Explain the working principles of various types of steam and hot water boilers, steam turbines & steam engines.
Explain related provisions under The Factories and Machineries Act 1967 and OSHA 1994.
Describe the boiler operations, conditional monitoring, installation of new boiler, various type of testing and basic boiler water treatment.
Sketch the steam boiler, piping system, fittings & other accessories.
Analyze defect samples & tube failure and recognize common boiler deposits.
Describe boiler house management (managing log book, safety management (policy statement, arrangement, implementation and accident prevention) and contingency plan or emergency response plan.
Carry out boiler inspections, defects identification & prepare proposal for repair based on applicable codes & procedures.
Be prepared for examination & interview by the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)
