This is 5-day training consisting of lectures, hands-on & case studies to be proficient in steam boilers operation & maintenance and preparing for the examination.

Objectives

• Explain the working principles of various types of steam and hot water boilers, steam turbines & steam engines.
• Explain related provisions under The Factories and Machineries Act 1967 and OSHA 1994.
• Describe the boiler operations, conditional monitoring, installation of new boiler, various type of testing and basic boiler water treatment.
• Sketch the steam boiler, piping system, fittings & other accessories.
• Analyze defect samples & tube failure and recognize common boiler deposits.
• Describe boiler house management (managing log book, safety management (policy statement, arrangement, implementation and accident prevention) and contingency plan or emergency response plan.
• Carry out boiler inspections, defects identification & prepare proposal for repair based on applicable codes & procedures.
• Be prepared for examination & interview by the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)
