Introduction

Single Point Mooring (SPM) operation need greater knowledge and skill personal. Seem the SPM operation is a tough and challenging operation, the person should be well equipped with sufficient knowledge.

Beside this training will stimulate the critical thinking and operation effectiveness. During the training, various type of case study will be tabled and it would help the participant to related with their working environment/facilities.

Improve the current operation practices of the SPM and optimized the resource of the terminal would be the training outcomes. Significantly improve the operation safety and minimized incident or accidents.

Day 1

  • Overview of Single Point Mooring (SPM) Operation.
  • Definition and Terminology
  • Importance of the SPM operation to the Organization
  • Roles and responsibility of the SPM work force (Marine Craft)
  • Review the design and capacity of the SPM parameters.
  • Understanding of operation activities and SPM Structure.
  • Identified potential hazard and risk of the SPM operation.
  • Case study

Day 2

  • Structure of Crude Tankers and capacity.
  • Preparation of tanker mooring operation and hoses connection.
  • Cargo operation- documentation and Unloading operation.
  • Tanker cargo completion- Hoses disconnection and Unmooring operation.
  • Downtime of the critical components on SPM and the possible root causes.
  • Manpower issue (Shortage or wastage).
  • Problem and troubleshooting.
  • External factors affect the operation-Weather, Pandemic, Politics, etc.
  • Case Study
  • Group discussion and brainstorming of the participant.
